The Hideaway by @Rosalind_Abel #REVIEW #ULTIMATEINDULGENCE

The Hideaway, Rosalind Abel
Lavender Shores #5
Lavender Shores’s resident tattoo artist, Connor Clark, looks the part—six foot six, musclebound, and covered in ink—and most definitely doesn’t blend in. Grafted into the Bryant family as a teenager to escape his abusive father, the Bryants saved his life, but Connor has never truly felt a part of the founding family royalty. And if his heart’s desire were revealed, it would betray everything the Bryants have done for him.

Micah Bryant was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He’s always had everything he ever wanted—save the one he desires most. Even moving to New York City for a few years didn’t dampen his passion. Not that Micah had expected it to. He’s known his destiny since he was nine years old, the moment it had walked through his door.

After years of longing, years of secrets and stolen moments of passion and love, Connor weakens enough to allow the town to see how he feels, and let the Bryants know his love for Micah is anything but brotherly. But no sooner had the decision been made than Connor’s biological family returns and shatters it all. Still, Micah holds on to the belief that their romance was written in the stars, but maybe he’d been wrong all those years….

REVIEW:
This series just gets better with each installment.

Connor came to the Bryants from an abusive, religious home. Living with the Bryants was the first time he felt loved and a part of a family. He suddenly had two sisters and two brothers and parents who accepted him unconditionally.

Micah loved Connor from the moment he stepped into their home. Raised as bothers Micah never looked at Connor that way, knowing that Connor was his soulmate. When Connor comes home from college, Micah desides to make his move and crawls in bed with Connor, only to have Connor reject him.

Thus a pattern begins, Micah is in from the beginning but Connor struggles with shame and fear that loving Micah will cause him to lose his family. The two go back and forth for years, and just when Micah finally believes that they will finally be together everything blows up.

My heart!!! This author is so good at creating these characters that just wreck me. Don't get me wrong, this isn't all angst, because there are some seriously hot scenes between the MC's. One that even had this girl thinking about getting a tattoo! But the internal struggle that Connor experiences is so real and visceral. Not to mention the family's reaction to the relationship....whooo talk about gut-wrenching.

I also want to give a shout out to the cover artist, AngstyG, because these covers are visually stunning!
